For over 30 years, Kardon Institute for Arts Therapy has helped individuals with special needs through comprehensive music, dance and art therapy.

A New Direction for our Blog

As our staff and clients know, we’ve been cooking up something special over the past month here at Kardon. It’s called the Peer Committee, and it’s a client-led discussion group with the purpose of allowing our clients to voice their opinions on issues that affect them, celebrate their journeys and victories with others, and express themselves through written word.

This is how it works: Every quarter, interested clients will meet and discuss issues, celebrate, and plan. Between meetings, each group member will write at least one piece to be posted on our “Getting Creative” blog, and will use those posts to inform topic discussions at future meetings. We have two founding members of the Peer Committee: Maria Bottiglieri and Christine Lulewicz. Over the next few months, you’ll be reading about their journeys and topics that are important to them.

We invite everyone to give feedback on these stories. This is your chance to let your voice be heard. The next meeting of the Peer Committee will be in December, and we’re hoping that all interested parties will join us in sharing and supporting the group.

If you have questions about the peer committee, contact Katrina by email: kcox at kardoninstitute.org.
